Job Duties

This position supervises and participates in the daily operations of the Business License Division, including the enforcement of business license ordinances for the City of Columbia, issuing business licenses, and collecting and accounting for related fees, and performs related supervisory, administrative and technical work as assigned.

Assists in supervising subordinate staff. Supervisory duties include scheduling; instructing; assigning, reviewing and planning work of others; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; assisting with the selection of new employees, and acting on employee problems. Reviews the work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy; provides training, advice and assistance as needed.

Assists in developing and administering the division budget, ensuring the effective and efficient use of budgeted funds, personnel, materials, facilities and time.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Four years of relevant prior experience.

Valid South Carolina Class “D” Driver’s License.

Pay Info
$46,251 - $58,970 annually
