Job Duties

Performs routine patrols of the beach and assists Beach Patrol Officers in performance of their duties (limited duty functions as listed above). Participates in and assists in training courses and sessions as it applies to the beach. Reports issues through proper channels to on-duty officers. Notifies on-duty officers of major issues or disturbances within area and takes necessary action until arrival of a superior certified class I police authority. Testifies in court as necessary in relation to violations of State or local laws/ordinances.

Monitors and reports dangers or events which create issues on the beach. Acts as an “Ambassador to the Town” by meeting, greeting, and answering any questions asked by citizens on the beach. Must be able to operate any four wheel off-road all-terrain vehicle necessary to perform beach patrol functions.

Qualifications

Must possess a high school diploma or GED and provide a valid transcript (if requested). Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver’s license. Must maintain a residence in the state of South Carolina.
