Assistant Town Manager, Town of Batesburg-Leesville
Assists the Town Manager in overseeing the Town’s daily operations and assists with oversight of all departments.
Works with the Town Manager to develop, plan, implement, and coordinate various town functions; performs project management, strategic planning and budget development and administration functions. Assists in coordinating the activities of the town government with regional jurisdictions and state and federal agencies.
Works with and provides guidance to department heads to implement policies set forth by Town Council. Monitors staff performance through established evaluation systems, ensuring accountability and adherence to performance standards. Performs duties of the Town Manager in his or her absence as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
A minimum of two years experience in municipal or county government in a senior level capacity or a similar leadership role or combination of education and work experience. Experience as a Manager or Assistant Town Manager (preferred). An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge of local government operations, policies, and regulations.
