Job Duties

Assist with developing and implementing IT strategic plan, goals and objectives, including tracking and reporting on IT performance metrics. Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals. Coordinates, assigns, and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed. Assist with organizing team priorities and duties

Assist with overseeing computer systems pertaining to security, reliability, file management, hardware, and software maintenance. Assist with overseeing and maintaining the security of the City's users, network, and computer systems. Monitors and analyzes statistics for various metrics such as help desk tickets, blocked emails, phishing tests and hacking attempts, etc. Coordinates, manages and maintains technology vendor activities and partnerships. Assist with planning and developing daily, short- and long-term goals related to City purposes.

Researches, requests, collects, and reviews proposals and quotes for technology purchases for the City's technology needs. Provides computer technical support to users, utilizing troubleshooting and problem-solving applications. Helps oversee technical support for the City and coordinates help desk activities. Coordinates and installs various types of computer system hardware and software. Operates a variety of technology equipment such as network hardware, computers, printers, and telecommunications devices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, information management, or related field.

Five (5) years of progressively responsible IT experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training. MCP - Microsoft Certified Professional.

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
