Animal Control Officer, City of Isle of Palms Police Department
Performs animal control, animal protection, and the enforcement of laws and ordinances related to wildlife and animal control and issues municipal ordinance summons for non-compliance.
Patrols City for stray, injured or distressed animals and uses appropriate methods to catch and transport animals to appropriate locations.
Investigates and reports animal bites and suspected diseased animals to appropriate health officials. Conducts periodic registration and disease control clinics for the public in conjunction with veterinarians.
This is not a sworn law enforcement officer position. Preference will be given to applicants that have experience in animal care and handling and/or advanced training through an animal control/care institute.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Possession of a South Carolina driver's license.
