Associate Judge, City of Conway
Position Category: Courts
Full time, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some work on weekends
Under the general supervision of the City Administrator, the Associate Judge maintains all court records; oversees bank account reconciliation; disburses fines and fees; transfers general sessions cases to clerk of court; sets jury trials; enters dispositions for all cases; interacts with municipal judge; defense attorneys and police.
Handles normal daily paperwork and approves timecards; oversees the daily operations of the court office; attends staff meetings and submits required reports to court administration; issues arrest warrants; reports to jail for bond hearings on weekends and holidays when necessary or when municipal judge is unavailable.
Receives and responds to inquiries, requests for assistance and complaints pertaining to department procedures; responds to defendants, victims, victim’s advocate, defense attorneys and police; handles ticket reductions for walk-ins on a daily basis and other job duties as required.
Bachelor’s Degree; seven years of related work experience; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must attend the Orientation School for New Judges immediately after hire and must pass required state exam within one year of hire date.
Entry-level pay for this position is $54,317.00 annually.
