Wastewater Superintendent, City of Florence

Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff. Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work. Supervises the daily plant operations of two biological wastewater facilities including biosolids processing and disposal, and sanitary sewer pump stations to remain in compliance with National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permits. Coordinates divisional staff and with the maintenance group on preventative maintenance and repairs of equipment.
Must work nights, weekends, holidays, and/or during inclement weather events due to business necessity. Serves on call 24 hours a day as scheduled and responds to emergency situations as necessary. Remains current and knowledgeable of local, State and Federal regulations pertaining to areas of responsibility. Must have working knowledge of supervisory concepts and principles.
Must have management experience, computer skills, and excellence written and oral communication. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all City and departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to be effective in the position. Performs all other related duties as assigned and required.
Associates Degree in the science, engineering, environmental health or other related field
Five years of experience in wastewater treatment with some supervisory or lead experience.
“A” Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License is required.
Salaried: $57,383-$68,578/year; 2080 hours/year
