Wastewater/Stormwater System Mechanic I, City of Georgetown

The City of Georgetown is now accepting applications for a Wastewater/Stormwater System Mechanic I.
Under general supervision, trains to learn how to operate a backhoe, Vactor truck, dump truck, bobcat, bush hog, air hammer etc. Performs rain detail duties. Trains and learns how to construct, install, and perform maintenance storm water catch basins and lines. Trains on how to clear line blockages on wastewater and storm water system lines. Assists with the construction and repairs sanitary sewer lines and man holes.
Trains on how to operate specialized and heavy equipment in construction, maintenance and repair of wastewater and storm water lines. Reports to the Storm Water Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications: Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, with one to years of experience in a job related field. Must possess a valid S.C. Driver's License, and be able to obtain a S.C. Class B Commercial Driver’s License within six months of hire date. Mechanical aptitude and previous experience in utility work, plumbing, or heavy equipment operation is desired.
Salary Range: $26,498.01 - $37,097.21 annually.
