Police Officer, Town of Ridgeland

Position Category: Police

Position Hours:
Full time, 12-hour rotating work schedule

Job Duties:
  • Performs vehicular foot patrols within the Town limits; assists motorist and persons in need; issues warnings and citations; detains and apprehends criminal suspects and traffic violators; investigates traffic accidents.
  • Respond to citizen complaint calls; documents incident reports,; maintains records required for legal processes of court; serves summons, warrants and other legal documents, explaining purpose of court order; serves summons, warrants and other legal documents, explaining purpose of court order; serves as a witness in court proceedings.

Qualifications:
  • SCCJA certification highly desired.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Valid SC driver's license with 5-year driving record.

Pay Info:
Starting at $38,192 annually, depending on qualifications. Paid health, vision and dental health insurance for the State Health Plan. Participation in the SC Police Officers Retirement System (SC PORS).
