Water/Sewer Lead Worker, City of West Columbia
Position Category: Public Works
Full time, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday
Provides assistance in repairing and/or installing water lines.
Reviews work orders on a daily basis; determines location of problems and makes repairs/completes work orders in a timely manner.
Utilizes sharpshooter shovel for water line repairs; uses hand pumps to pump water line repairs; uses meter lid pullers and manhole lid pullers.
High school diploma or GED with the demonstrated ability to read, write, and comprehend at a high school level.
Posses a valid SC driver’s license.
Have physical ability to perform hard manual labor.
Starting salary $26,121.45 annually dependent on qualifications with budgeted merit and cost-of-living increases, plus 13 holidays, participation in State Retirement System, SC Deferred Compensation Plan, and State Health Plan with employee’s portion of health and basic dental insurance premiums paid by the city.
