Town Clerk, Town of North

Position Category: Clerical

Position Hours:
Full time, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Job Duties:
  • Provide clerical support to mayor and Council, including reviewing, indexing and recording information and or legal documents, entering and updating data into databases, providing copies of official and or legal documents to public and other parties.
  • Coordinates collection, receipt and refunds of payments of fees and fines or other fees and services.
  • Performs general clerical tasks, which may include answering telephone calls, processing business licenses ad water/sewer payments, typing documents, making copies, sending/receiving faxes, filing or processing incoming/outgoing mail. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma; supplemented by one year previous experience and/or training that include office work, basic bookkeeping, record management, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina driver's license.
  • Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form. Involves semi-routine standardized work with some latitude for independent judgement concerning choices of action.
  • Must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.
