Bicycle/Pedestrian Transportation Planner, City of Columbia

Position Category: Planning, GIS

Job Duties:
  • Coordinates the implementation of the City’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan;
  • Coordinates and advises City staff and regional and state agencies with regard to planning for, design of, and implementation and delivery of urban active transportation projects and programs and
  • Develops and/or assists in the development and implementation of land use, growth management, infrastructure and other plans to meet the City’s needs related to transportation; evaluates land use proposals, development designs (site plans), subdivision plans, etc., for compliance with recommendations of the City’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan and codes and regulations related thereto.

  • Bachelor’s degree in transportation planning, transportation engineering, urban planning, or civil engineering with an emphasis on active transportation or a closely related field;
  • Three (3) years of relevant prior experience to include active transportation and a
  • Valid South Carolina Class “D” Driver’s License.

Pay Info:
$51,961.47 - $66,250.95 annually
