Town Administrator, Town of Estill

Position Category: Administration

Position hours: Full-time position, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Job duties:

  • The Town Administrator oversees the daily operations of the town; works collaboratively with department heads to implement policies set forth by town Council, and provides leadership in the development of short and long-range plans. Responsible for implementing all Board of Selectmen's policy decisions and providing staff in all departments with the clear and efficient operating procedures necessary to carry out Board policy mandates.
  • The Town Administrator will have the responsibility of drafting and presenting the annual budget to members of the Council and advising the governing body of financial conditions, concerns, and future needs. He or She will administer the yearly operating budget and capital improvement budgets. Submits reports to the Board on the status of the Town's budget. Serves as the approval agent for Town purchases.
  • Acts as Personnel Director for the Town; hires (with Board of Council approval), evaluates and directs the Town's staff. Monitors the budget and all financial affairs of the Town; works closely with Council, Budget Personnel, and department heads to develop a comprehensive budget and work program.

Qualifications: The minimum requirements for this position are a bachelor's degree and at least ten years of increasingly responsible professional experience in a municipal administrative role with a minimum of eight years of management experience
