Marketing and Public Information Manager, Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority

Position Category: Public Information

Position hours: Full-time position 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some work on weekends

Job duties:

  • Creates new transit fare programs to attract new commuters, students and visitors to the system; builds strong relationships between The COMET and the community through public hearings and community meetings while maintaining online and social media presence; and manages the overall marketing program for The COMET
  • Plans, organizes, directs, develops and coordinates business development, marketing activities and branding; acts as The COMET's primary media spokesperson; creates press releases; develops and oversees community outreach events/projects; oversees the content of The COMET's website and social media; and develops and oversees all aspects of the advertising program, both revenue generating and The COMET promotion

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in marketing, communications, public relations, public administration, graphic design, journalism or a related field with five years of professional experience in the field of marketing and communications or related industry, with a minimum of three years of supervisory experience
  • Previous experience complying with or managing a marketing budget, preferably in a public transit agency

Pay info: $55,000 – $87,514 annually
