Police Chief, Town of Estill
Position Category: Police
Must be able to supervise, plan and direct the operations of the Town of Estill Police Department to ensure the enforcement of laws, procedures, regulation, and ordinances relating to public safety and welfare as set forth by the State of South Carolina and the Town of Estill.
Reports to the Town Administrator.
Supervises and directs and work by overseeing the operations, investigations and administration, scheduling, and ensuring all calls are answered and reported along with any accidents that may occur. Make sure investigative cases are completed and ready for court. Overseeing administrative functions to include the proper filings of reports, files, tickets. Etc. Reports to the town administrator concerning all personnel matter, which includes hiring, terminating, and disciplining department staff.
Develop trends for future goals involving community programs.
Prepares and ensures the department is within budget, prepares procurement forms for approval when an
item needs to be purchased.
Requires an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice or related field with five or more years of experience in law enforcement, some of which must have been at the supervisory level or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid South Carolina Driver license.
Completion of South Carolina Law Enforcement Academy. Applicant must reside or be willing to relocate to Hampton County.
