Assistant Events Coordinator, Town of Fort Mill

Position Category: Administration

Position Hours:
Full time, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some work on nights and weekends

Job Duties:
  • Coordinates, plans, and promotes the annual Farmers Market function for the Town. Receives market vendor information and prepares maps and vendor lists; ensures the market setup is completed. Manages vendor spaces during market, inspects vendor tents to ensure proper placement; enforces vendor guidelines; addresses safety concerns and vendor/customer questions and concerns, and well as other market issues.
  • Aids the Events Coordinator in planning, coordinating, and executing town events, programs, and festivals. Performs a variety of administrative tasks such as record keeping, report preparation, data entry, preparation, and maintenance of event records, etc. Assists in the collection of fees associated with events and the sale of promotional items, managing cash, credit, and check transactions, reports, and deposits. Provides support for executing town events to include night and weekend work.
  • Sets up, plans, and coordinates an event volunteer program. Provides customer services; program and facility information; registers the public for programs and events; assists with set-up for various events.

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Pay Info:
$18.21 per hour.
