Human Resources Generalist, Town of Bluffton

Position Hours:
Full time, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday

Job Duties:
  • The purpose of this position is to coordinate and perform skilled administrative support work for Human Resources with an emphasis on training, recognition, onboarding, tracking for FMLA and Worker’s Compensation, Education Reimbursement, scheduling and coordinating meetings, interviews and events. This position also provides high level of exceptional customer service while representing the Town of Bluffton.
  • Serves as lead HR staff for employee recruitment. Tasks may include posting job openings; processing and tracking applications, acknowledging applicants throughout process, distributing applications to appropriate department, and scheduling phone/face-to-face interviews through communication with other departments. Serves as Administrator for CivicHR software program and manages HR webpage/employment portal. Provides assistance as necessary to schedule and coordinate training events, maintains training requests and records for employees.
  • Inputs information into MUNIS and database for employee actions. Schedules and organizes events for new employees that include, but are not limited to: Onboarding, Orientation, May River Eco Tour and monthly birthday/anniversary recognition events. Tracks employee recognition programs to ensure that birthdays, anniversaries, STAR Award and Nova Award and other employee announcements and recognitions are properly coordinated and tracked. Updates the end of the month report and tracks expenses in the HR Department for budget preparation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or human resources; and two years of related experience working in a human resources department, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Public Sector experience is a plus.
