Civil Engineer - Stormwater, City of Greer
Position Category: Engineering
Full time, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; additional hours as scheduled.
Assist with MS4 Program which includes preparing annual reports for the City’s Phase II Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Program to ensure that the six minimum control measures are met. Coordinates public outreach education. Conduct technical review of construction plans and reports which includes the review of construction plans and technical reports for stormwater management, and storm sewer design to assure environmental compliance.
Ensure that good practices are used and in conformance with the City’s Ordinances, Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) Regulations, FEMA regulations, Federal and State Laws. Manage the construction of the City’s capital improvement projects, ensure contractor conformance with the contract, plans, and specifications. Ensure the quality of materials and workmanship and provide acceptance and payment for those items on behalf of the City on a monthly basis. Manage watershed basin studies that determine the floodplain and undersized culverts.
Recommend new capital improvement projects based on results of studies. Manage stormwater projects that involve but are not limited to the initial design, request for proposals, construction plans, request for bids, and construction management. Assist with Floodplain Management Respond to citizen calls for stormwater/flooding complaints, which involve computer mapping, floodplain report investigation, and site investigations. Based on site investigations, water flow characteristics must be determined and site-specific recommendations communicated to the citizens.
Requires Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited university, EIT required and two years experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Certified Stormwater Plan Reviewer (CSPR) certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months. Certified Erosion Prevention & Sediment Control Inspector (CEPSCI) certification or ability to obtain within six months.
Experience with AutoCAD, permit tracking software, construction management software and ArcGIS, preferred. Must have a valid state issued driver’s license.
Salary dependent upon experience; Salary range - $55,057 - $89,193 a year
