National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) Inspector - EDS - Engineering & Environmental, Town of Mount Pleasant

Position Hours:
Full time, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Job Duties:
  • The NPDES Inspector reviews site and subdivision development plans, and performs field reviews, inspections, and investigations of new and existing stormwater systems for environmental compliance; assists with stormwater improvement projects. Performs work in support of Stormwater Asset Management and general Stormwater operations.
  • Performs routine and non-routine inspections of new and existing stormwater infrastructure to maintain compliance with State National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit requirements.
  • Performs compliance inspections or investigations of commercial and residential construction on a daily basis throughout the Town. Performs inspections on town and private properties, existing stormwater infrastructure, and post-construction stormwater controls to determine maintenance needs and schedules.

Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree with three years of work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • SC Erosion Protection Sediment Control Inspector Certification.
  • Hazardous Materials and OSHA Level II Certification (Spill Management and Reporting) and Post-Construction BMP Inspector within one year of employment.

Pay Info:
$24.14 Hourly
