Inspector, Town of Chapin

Position Category: Utilities

Job Duties:
  • The Inspector is responsible for assisting with contract administration, inspections, construction contract closeout of all capital improvement projects whether initiated by the Town or a private Developer within the Town’s utility service area. The incumbent also assists with plan review and permitting of system expansion projects to ensure compliance with established contract specifications and local, state and federal regulations.
  • This position is under the general guidance and direction of the Town Engineer. This position regularly interacts with other governmental agencies, consulting engineers, utility contractors, developers, other Town Departments and the general public. This position may be assigned special projects and other responsibilities as required.

  • An Associate’s degree in an engineering or closely related field or any equivalent combination of experience and training equivalent to four years of college education. Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Must possess or be able to obtain a Class “B” Wastewater Treatment Operator’s license and a Class “C” Water Distribution System license within three years of employment.
