Chief Technology Officer, Town of Bluffton

Position Hours:
Full time, Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Job Duties:
  • The purpose of this position is to lead the Department of Information Technology in all aspects of addressing the automated data and computer systems needs necessary to sustain all functions of local government for the Town of Bluffton . This position plans, directs, and manages the Information Technology Department; ensures the development and implementation of cost-effective systems and efficient computer operations to meet current and future decision-making requirements; provides Town-wide direction in areas of policy and planning for data processing and related functions (communication, office systems and interconnectivity, etc.)
  • ​Creates an environment through effective teamwork where commitment, initiative, and sharing information will thrive; and performs technical work involving installation, configuration, support, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and related equipment and components.


Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree, preferably in information technology; and five years of related technical and management work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid South Carolina driver’s license. Certifications/Training in: CGCIO certification; Certified Network Engineer; Certified Wireless Administrator; Certified Cisco Communications Manager; A+ and Network Certification; Law Enforcement applications training; and VoIP training.
