From time to time Risk and Safety Services staff members see our members thinking outside the box and using creative ways to focus on safety. This edition’s bright idea recognition goes to the City of Greer for its seat belt initiative. Supervisors wanted a quick and easy way to monitor if employees were wearing their seatbelts. They decided to purchase red seat belt pads for all city vehicles. They imprinted the pads with the City of Greer logo and have the slogan, “Wear Seatbelts and Live.” The pads are highly visible not only to supervisors but also to the public. Great job City of Greer!
