OSHA incident rate data for the past several years reveals that local government continues to have the highest rate of any classification in either the public or private sector. To help our members address their safety needs, SCMIT sponsored an OSHA 10-hour construction course on October 15-16 in Columbia and November 12-13 in Mauldin.
The session taught by Billy Frost of Frost Training & Consulting covered such items as trenching and excavation, confined space, personal protective equipment and respirators with more than 120 municipal employees in attendance.
