Help Desk Technician, City of Goose Creek
Provide first-level technical support to end-users regarding hardware, software, and network issues; diagnose and resolve technical problems through phone, email, or in-person communication; assists users with software and hardware problems; deliver excellent customer service by addressing user inquiries promptly and professionally.
Maintain a positive and helpful attitude while assisting users with technical issues; document and track user interactions, issues, and resolutions; assist in conducting training sessions for end-users on basic IT applications and best practices; create and update user documentation to facilitate self-help.
Maintain an inventory of IT assets, including computers, peripherals, and software licenses; coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs and replacements; keep abreast of new technologies and recommend upgrades or enhancements; assist in troubleshooting network connectivity issues; collaborate with network administrators for the resolution of more complex network problems.
High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant certifications and/or technical training, bachelor's degree, preferred; one year's experience in a helpdesk or technical support role.
Any combination of education and experience totaling three years may be considered; proven knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Office applications required; valid South Carolina Driver's License.
