Accounting Manager, Town of Hilton Head Island

Position Category: Finance

Job duties:

  • Provides leadership and direction to the accounting division to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, generally accepted accounting principles, governmental accounting standards board regulations, and town policies and procedures
  • Maintains a number of significant governmental funds and monitors, analyzes and oversees interfund balances and transactions
  • Acts as liaison between town staff and external auditors; oversees and prepares audit work papers; works directly with auditors providing prompt and accurate information as requested; and oversees or prepares audit schedules used to prepare the comprehensive annual financial report


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • Extensive accounting experience preferably in a governmental setting
  • Considerable supervisory experience

Pay info: $64,056 – $81,671 annually
