Position hours: 24 hours on/48 hours off
- Engages directly in fire suppression rescue, equipment operation and maintenance, and fire station maintenance
- Engages in fire prevention, community service and training activities
- High school diploma, GED or college diploma and must possess a valid SC driver's license within 90 days of employment and pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Must possess minimum of National Fire Protection Association firefighter I; preference may be given to candidates with National Fire Protection Association firefighter II and emergency responder certifications
Pay info: $31,780.87 annually or higher, depending on qualifications, with excellent benefits package including paid holidays and participation in state retirement system, SC deferred compensation plan and state health plan with employee's health and basic dental insurance premiums paid by the city
