Assistant Stormwater Manager, Beaufort County

Position Category: Public Works

Position hours: Full-time position, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday

Job duties:

  • Provides effective operation for the stormwater department; plans and directs the activities of stormwater utility; and oversees the planning, design and construction of stormwater projects for the county
  • Manages the county's municipal separate stormsewer system (MS4) permit program; and performs fiscal planning responsibilities and capital projects
  • Directs professional, technical and clerical staff; and answers public complaints about drainage and recommends solutions to county administration

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from a four-year college or university;five years of progressively responsible related experience including supervisory experience is preferred
  • South Carolina professional engineer registration or the ability to obtain registration is required; and a certified professional in stormwater quality or similar certificate is preferred
  • Must possess and maintain a valid SC driver's license
